For much of the year Captain John and the Rodbender II can be found plying the fertile waters of Raritan Bay and both near shore and offshore waters around Sandy Hook National Park, NJ. Fishing out of Atlantic Highlands, NJ offers a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the outstanding fishery northern New Jersey / Raritan Bay has to offer. Captain John also fishes the Chesapeake Bay from the Flats to the Bay Bridge Tunnel, so check the reports page to see where we are catching.

Capt John is truly a hardcore fishermen, As a captain myself I always seem to pick up a little tip here or there that is always useful when trying to get your clients some fish. The dedication and time he has put in not only mastering the inshore waters but the offshore as well is obvious by watching him in action he always has a game plan and a back up if the weather changes. His vessel the Rod Bender while small in size is fully equipped with all your fishing and safety needs plus he has an overkill of electronics and back up of every unit on hand. If you want to catch fish and enjoy yourself on the water I say give Capt John a shot you can't go wrong! In the times I've fished with the Captain we caught Stripers over 30 pounds, Mahi over 20 pounds, Tuna up to 85 pounds, Fluke up to 9 pounds and sea bass, croakers, porgies as well and may I remind you we caught all these different species on only 3 trips!
